In the quiet room
The Petal and Paper Collection grew from the same tender places as my still‑life paintings from inherited objects, the flowers that have marked our days, and the memories that linger quietly in the rooms we return to.
During the weeks my dad was in hospital, I found myself sketching small patterns and gentle marks to steady my thoughts. Those quiet moments of making fragile, repetitive, comforting became the seeds of the designs you see here. Each notebook and card carries a trace of that time: the softness of petals, the echo of possessions passed through loving hands, the beauty held in ordinary things. I hope these pieces become spaces for your own stories, thoughts, and memories to settle, just as creating them helped me hold onto mine.

Quiet Corners: A Year of Dawn Blatherwick brings together a collection of artwork celebrating beauty found in overlooked spaces, peaceful moments and familiar landscapes. From sunlit interiors and tranquil gardens to atmospheric Yorkshire scenes, each image tells its own story and invites you to pause and look a little closer.
Created from original paintings, this calendar is designed to bring a touch of art into every month of the year, making it a wonderful gift for art lovers, collectors, and anyone who appreciates the character and charm of Britain's special places.
