This painting captures the warmth of shared tradition a table set with inherited China, fresh flowers, and sweet treats that speak of family gatherings and care. The handed‑down teapot and delicate cups evoke the grace of your late mother‑in‑law, while the flowers recall the quiet remembrance of your father. The composition balances celebration and reflection, turning domestic ritual into a tender act of memory.

It honours the beauty of continuity how love and remembrance live on through the simple rituals of tea, conversation, and home.

Artist note

The loss of my father brought an unexpected abundance of flowers into my home, along with long moments of reflection. As I painted, I found myself pairing these fresh blooms with treasured possessions that once belonged to my late mother‑in‑law, creating a quiet conversation between the two people who shaped me so deeply. My dad, a painter himself, followed my artistic journey with pride; my mother‑in‑law, ever traditional, loved nothing more than gathering family together.

Through these still life's, I hope I have honoured them both, their stories, their presence, and the love that continues to guide my hands.
