Self Portrait

The Self Portrait is always a difficult subject for me. When I paint a person I get to know their features inside out, the dint in their nose, the angle the mouth sits etc. Having to closely examine yourself is a bit unnerving, seeing how much my face has aged and realizing its flaws, also seeing what everyone else sees how I express myself to others, how I communicate. 

I will be creating several self portraits first as a sketch and then build up to a finished painting, so this is an on going process and I will slowly be adding my work as I progress through.

I am hoping to exhibit my finished pieces in York in October at the Art&York exhibition held at the Racecourse
